Sunday, May 3 @ 4pm
National Underground Railroad Freedom Center Harriet Tubman Theater

Wynton Marsalis‘ critically acclaimed Big Train takes us on a journey back to a time when the great road bands toured the country via railway. Sparkling with evocative musical imagery like Duke Ellington’s “Happy Go Lucky Local,” and guest conducted by Wynton’s colleague and vice president of education at Jazz at Lincoln Center, Todd Stoll, Big Train brings to life the energy and excitement of jazz on the rails. Join us on Sunday, May 3 at the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center’s Harriet Tubman Theater to hear the NEW sound of jazz in Cincinnati!

Special guests the Cincinnati Youth Jazz Orchestra will open the show! The CYJO was selected as top ensemble at the first annual Three Rivers Jazz Festival where the CCJO was ensemble in residence in March!

The performance will be followed by a get together with the musicians at Crave Restaurant, just one block away. A ticket stub from the concert is required for event admission.
